WOW!

For those that don’t remember the TV programme TW3, it stood for “That Was The Week That Was.” And what a week we have just had! One of the most frequently heard expressions from audience members was simply “Wow!” They were wowed throughout the week by so many performers – from Eleanor Oldfield who stepped in at the 11th hour to replace the voice-less Rebecca Milford, through the amazing talents we saw from percussionists, jazz and brass bands, young singers and instrumentalists, a junior violinist playing Rachmaninov at the Schools’ concert, the acoustic-defying marvels of Kingfisher Chorale and of course Saturday night’s cello soloist Aglaia Carvalho-Dubost, who just…well, WOW!

THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC

A week like this doesn’t just happen, it takes a lot of work from the organising team, the volunteers who acted as stewards and manned (or do we have to say ‘personned’) the bars and we would not be anywhere without our generous sponsors,* the Churchwardens and Director of Music at Holy Trinity, Cuckfield Baptist Church, The Talbot and the Ansty team.

And then there is one group without whom….. our delightful audiences. It was so lovely to see you, talk to you and hear your reactions to events. A special thanks to all those who filled in our audience survey forms as this is tremendously helpful in planning for next year.

*We are very grateful for the support, both financial and in kind, received from: Adelphi Holdings, Burgess Hill Girls, The Cockburn Family Trust, The Cuckfield Society, Katie Derham (Patron) (who very kindly introduced the Jane Burnell recital), Richard and Miranda Grainger, Hamptons, Rebecca Milford, Ockenden Manor Hotel, The Talbot.
